Parallel II is a year-long public artwork featuring a concrete façade, intended to initiate an ongoing visual conversation between artists and the local community. The intention is to inspire optimism, a sense of momentum embracing positivity as catalysts for progress and forward-thinking in a time of rapid change and unsettledness.

The idea revolves around inviting collaborators to create interventions on the façade offering a changing and dynamic experience for passers-by. Drawing inspiration from each collaborator’s unique artistic background this collaborative approach activates a parallel space for conversation in situ and online. It provides creatives with a platform to express their perspectives, engage with the community, and foster a sense of collective ownership in the public space.

In line with the notion of being parallel or adjacent to something, a space, a relation or a conversation, Parallel II seeks to extend its impact beyond the physical space. Each intervention, facilitated by the author, will be meticulously documented through means of photography and video, with these visual records made available on the artist's website. This expanded platform encourages further discussion amongst a wider audience, allows viewers to witness the project's evolution, follow the transitions between artworks, and delve into the thematic threads woven by the participating artists.

Furthermore, as the project concludes, a small publication will be produced. This document serves as a record of the conversations, anecdotes and collaborations that emerge between creatives, capturing the public's engagement and offering insights into the imagined visual narratives inspired by each intervention through exploring the transformative possibilities of public art.
